The
Movies of Mark Baranowski and On Mark Productions
A
total DIY powerhouse, Mark Baranowski has written,
directed, produced, scored and starred
in at least 7 movies. His movies traditionally feature
beautiful girls, blood, titties, witty dialogue
and his wife Ryli Morgan.Mark is in Charlotte, NC
hard at work on a new film, "Grynn," starring
Ryli,
but you can find all his films at www.createtolive.com.
His latest, "Heaven Help Me, I'm In Love,"
was released last year and is kind of a departure
for him, but here are some reviews of On
Mark Productions projects. Each is a low-budget deal,
filmed on digital cameras on location,
but are pretty good quality for your neighborhood
movie maker
"Expendable"
Featuring
some good directing, naked girls and blood, Expendable
is a pretty good flick.
The movie is about a drug dealer who is selling his
"business" and getting out of town. He decides
he wants to take his ex-girlfriend out of town with
him, but in the year and-a-half they've been
separated his ex-girlfriend picked up some new hobbies
- like sucking blood and immortality.
The drug dealers plans don't quite work out like he
wanted them too, bad karma maybe, but the
movie is enjoyable to watch. It is well directed,
with good photography and settings, but the
length of the film is troubling. It could have been
a short film, or a full-length feature, but it
turned out in the middle. Probably with some hardcore
editing it would have made a sweet short
film - but it's still a decent watch as it is.
"Ryli Morgan: Audition"
Talk
about decent to watch, how about Ryli Morgan, www.rylimorgan.com,
getting naked.
That's all "Ryli Morgan: Audition" is, a
Ryli Morgan striptease. There are three scenes, two
sparse settings in front of a blue screen and one
shot in a boxing ring, Ryli dons some sexy suds,
the shoots some seductive looks at the camera, and
takes those clothes right off. I like her ass
myself, but you can inspect every inch of her and
form your own opinion.
"Powerful Play"
This
is a collection of music videos for Marquis - Mark
Baranowski. Most are shot in black
and white, most are short films about everyday life,
with music instead of dialogue, and they
are all pretty interesting. The music from Marquis
is kind of mediocre electronica, but it's pleasant
enough, and the videos are funny, sexy and well done.At
the end of the video collection is an
interview with Mark about his 15 years in the movie/entertainment
'bidness'.
"Heaven Help Me, I'm In Love"
The
latest film from On Mark Productions is a love story.
There is no blood, no vampires or suicide,
there are some titties - well
.. Come on, you
gotta have titties - but there is a love story. A
simple story about a couple who may or may not be
breaking up, some witty remarks from
friends, touching moments with dying parents, slutty
moments with old girlfriends, and there
you have it.
"Heaven Help Me, I'm In Love" is probably
the best scripted movie from Baranowski so far and
it
is the most "mainstream." Give Baranowski
a bigger budget and this movie could show up at
Sundance, or something. The film is very much like
an early Ed Burns film - "Brother's McMullen"
or "She's the One" - with less of a budget,
but just as much heart and story.
